Movie Get aims to be a simple console script allowing a user to download embeded movies from various video hosting services. It uses common *nix programs to download the file and convert it from flv to mpg format. The main work of mget is to get the direct video link, which it achieves with the help of the great ruby programming language.



mget is released under the GNU GPL 2.0, and has been tested on GNU/Linux, FreeBSD and Windows.

If you want to download the current development code, write this in your console:
svn checkout http://mget.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ mget

conel has set up an apt repository for mget. To use it add the following line to your /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://mget.ircfans.org/ ./
In your command line enter the following so the changes can take effect:
apt-get update
Now you can simply apt-get install mget.
